New Layout Design!!!!!!

•May 24, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Hi, my name is Amber and I design my own album layouts…. AHHHH!!!  ;)  BUT, I do enjoy it =)  I have decided to add a new item to my packages.  I will be offering a more custom, detailed album design layout.  I have tried it out on a recent album and I think it looks great.  I have posted a few pages below.

I think the actual album and design of the album is very important, and something that couples might overlook.  The final presentation of all of your beautiful images is JUST as important as the images themselves.  SO, please inquire if you have any questions.  This offer is also good to my current clients =)

Amanda & Mike Engagement

•May 24, 2010 • Leave a Comment

This past week I had the pleasure of photographing Amanda & Mike.  They are getting married in June and wanted some photographs posted at their reception.  I think that this is a great addition to the event because guests love looking at photographs of the married couple =)

I suggested to Amanda that we shoot at Hartwood Acres.  This is one of my favorite spots for several reasons; privacy, beauty and the ability to create several images with a different mood and feel.  We arrived around 430pm and I began clicking away.  As with many of the guys, Mike was a little apprehensive at first.  I assured him that it would not be painful— and hopefully he would have a good time.  Turns out that he did enjoy himself =)  I am very glad that I had a chance to hang out with the two of them and get to know them a little better.  And, I’m very very happy with how the images turned out.  They are a great couple and I am looking forward to their upcoming wedding next month.

Riley

This is his debut on my blog- my boy.  His name is Riley and he is 5 1/2 going on 30.  He is the reason for all of my motivation in life.  He also  knows the pains of growing up with a mom who is a photographer.  On his first day home from the hospital I had my first photo shoot with him.  From that point on he has been my favorite model.  It’s really funny to hear myself say to him, “that’s it— hold it!— hold it!”  We had a fun shoot today.  This is a church in Sewickley that I drive past all of the time.  I actually get to shoot a wedding here this year.  On the way home from grocery shopping I noticed that the wall along the sidewalk was growing bright green moss.  I couldn’t pass it up.  I ran home, changed him up and brought him back.  I am not sure if he even understand what I am doing… but I think he is a fantastic model.  Prehaps the early training will land him in something in the future =)  Enjoy

Max @ 6 months

Previously on my blog I had posted some baby pictures of my friends brand new baby, Max.  Well, he was coming up on 6 months already, and I had to get him back in for his second shoot.  Boy, had he grown… and he looked totally different.  It was intreresting shooting him this time around- because, he actually moved now, ha ha =)  I had a lot of fun, and, I think he did too.  Below are some of my favorites from the shoot!

Jeff & Esther

I don’t think when Jeff and Esther picked the date of Feb 6, 2010 for their wedding, they anticipated the excitement that would occur.  Yes, I’m talking about the blizzard of 2010.

After 2 hours of digging out my car I began my journey to Oakland.  It only took me an hour and fifteen minutes to get there =)  When I arrived Esther was in pretty good spirits.  I was happy that she wasn’t going to let “13 inches of global warming” spoil her day.  I quickly whipped out my camera and started shooting.  It felt really good to get back into the swing of things… this was my first wedding of the season.

The ceremony was in the lobby of the hotel and it was very intimate.  Jeff stood waiting at the altar, smiling, as Esther walked down.  This is my favorite part of weddings.  Jeff and Esther decided to write their own vows and they were great!  You could tell that these two were best friends.

After the ceremony we headed onsite to Penn Station for some photographs.  Esther was such a trooper!!!!  There weren’t any cleared walkways ANYWHERE- but she walked in the snow and did not even make a peep!  I was really glad that everyone made a fun time out of it.

Next was the reception at PPG Aquarium.  This was the first time I had shot here for a reception.  It was very non-traditional and I appreciated that.

Everyone had a great night… and I’m glad that nothing stopped us from having a day to remember.  Thank you again, Jeff and Esther, for selecting me to photograph your wedding day =)

Happy 2010

Hello All!

I wanted to say Happy New Year to all of my readers.  I hope this year is going great for everyone so far.

I wanted to remind all of my brides and brides- to- be that upon booking any referrals you will receive a free 8 x 10 print of your choice.  And I want to send out a thanks to all of my brides who have already referred me to others.  I really really appreciate the support and recommendations.

I also wanted to let everyone know that I have extended my booking for a few more months.  In the past I have had a cut-off limit for the amount of weddings that I take each year.  But, I have had such an overwhelming amount of inquiries that I have decided to book more.  I have brought on a second photographer, Justin.  Some of you have met him already.  His work is outstanding!  We are a great team in the way that we harmoniously capture the same scene in two totally different ways.  I am very fortunate to have snagged him.  I have included a second photographer in my package.  So, please spread the word that Amber Marie Photography has expanded =)

My 30th birthday just passed and I got to spend it in Mexico.  I will be posting some awesome photo’s of that within the week.

Thank you guys for reading- and I will be keeping this updated as the new year is unfolding.  My next wedding is on 2/6.  So I will have some new wedding photographs to post.

Have a good week everyone =)

Jared & Andrea Cox

Whew!  Back to work.  It’s been a VERY busy December.  There were a lot of orders for parent albums to get done.  But they all turned out fantastic!!!

A few weeks ago I photographed the wedding of Jared and Andrea Cox.  I was really looking forward to this day because December weddings are always so festive.  Not to mention that Jared and Andrea totally rock, too!  =)

I began shooting at Andrea’s house.  She looked so gorgeous in her dress and her hair piece was to die for.  I had never seen anything like it before.  It was definitely a more modern version of a tiara and complemented her completely.  The ceremony was great and I was able to get some amazing shots at the altar afterwords.

We decided to head downtown for onsite shots.  We were a little worried about the PITT game… and the traffic.  Fortunately, there were no issues and we were able to get some great photographs at PPG.  I then took just the bride and groom to Penn Station for some more romantic shots.  Those were probably some of my favorites from the whole season.

Despite it being about 30 degrees the whole bridal party was great and they were definitely TROOPERS!!!  Thanks to everyone!  Below are some great shots from their day.  Thank you Jared and Andrea for having me as your photographer!  It was amazing and you two are fantastic!

Last weekend was the wedding of Russ & Alex.  I had an amazing time shooting Alex getting ready.  Her dress was mesmerizing and her bouquet was gorgeous.  I always love a red rose bouquet.  The ceremony went flawless.  Alex wanted some great shots of the bubbles during their announcement out of the church, so I was glad that I got some good ones.

The reception was held at the Mayernik Center.  This was my second time shooting there this year.  I had the wedding party out back and was able to get some nice photographs.

Thanks again to Russ and Alex for choosing me as their photographer.

Jim & Mandy

I recently photographed the wedding of Jim and Mandy Rupert.  I had the pleasure of shooting their engagement session in the summer, so we became quite familiar.  I arrived at their apartment in the morning to begin.  I was in awe of how beautiful Mandy looked.  She was absolutely glowing!  It was great to capture all of it.

The church had an amazing exterior.  The paint was dull and peeling.  I immediately had my “visions.”  Ha Ha- me and my “visions.”

After shooting at the church we headed down to Westpointe to photograph the waterfall.  We got in some good shots because the guard came down and kicked us off the waterfall.  Good thing, because the waterfall shots were AMAZING!

Thank you so much to Jim & Mandy!!!  Feel free to leave comments =)
